SATURDAY 3RD OCTOBER 2009 at the YMCA Indian Student Hostel, Fitzroy Square, London
FCI Day on Saturday October 3rd was held at the YMCA Indian Student Hostel, Fitzroy Square, London. The celebrant at the service of Holy Communion was The Revd Canon Dr Arun John, Team Vicar, St Paul’s Church, Manningham, Bradford and the sermon on the theme ‘The Priority of Mission’ was by the Rt Revd John Went, Bishop of Tewkesbury.
After a curry and rice lunch the first annual general meeting of FCI members took place with the Revd Julie Lipp-Nathaniel in the chair. Reports from the Secretary and Treasurer were received and approved. Revised membership subscriptions were agreed: single £12; joint £18 and group £30. Members and friends who had died during the past year were remembered with gratitude followed by prayer led by the Chair.
The annual FCI lecture was delivered by The Revd Dr Leslie Nathaniel entitled: A Journey of Opportunities and Pitfalls over 60 years of Relations with the CSI – A Quest for Maturity in Mission Partnerships.
A very pleasant day ended with tea and Indian pastries.
